Welcome to Stairs.com
A Trade Referral and Resource site for the Stairbuilding Trades
About Stairs.com . . . Stairs.com was created 2.5 years ago (thats 10 in internet years) My name is Scott and I have been a stairbuilding craftsman since 1986 when I volunteered to build my first one, got hooked . . . and never quit.
Many times while learning the trade it would have been very helpful to have a source of information that offered techniques and "tricks" to not only save valuable time - but to be a better installer.Having a design resource ( other than being handed a photograph) would have helped also. The standard manufactured components that are commonly available are sometimes different in other areas of the country, I know that there are many "custom " styles made in small quantities that the average installer does not normally have access to. To these ends, this site was created and will expand.
Tools that save time are also an asset to be aware of, and there are many cool tools within the Stairbuilding trades, if you know where to find them. Jigs to make the jobs easier and faster but which are unique, or created by each individual are also very handy, After creating many myself I thought it would be great if we could all be aware of the " best of the jigs" and I welcome all Submissions.
When domains were going like hotcakes It seemed like a good idea to create a site where both the trades and the clients looking for us both had a place to go and find the information. I sat on it for a while because this "web thang" was all very new to me. After a long learning curve to be able to take over the page making of my own site, here we are.
To all those kind folks who found me, signed the guest book and requested subscription information . . . Thank you, here it is. In addition I will be sending a snail mail to a nationwide list of other installers, builders and parts manufacturers so that all of us together can create a resource to call our own because . . . . .
THIS IS YOUR SITE TOO.
